Diamond Polishing Pads With Different Grits
Seven particle size numbers of diamond polishing pads which are 50#, 100#, 200#, 400#, 800#, 1500#, 3000# are conventional polishing pads in the stone processing industry, also called the basic particle size. Because the manufacturing technology of this polishing pad is mature and the effect is reliable. In fact, the new type of three-step or five-step polishing pads are not as good as this conventional polishing pads in terms of optimization effect. From 50#~3000#, the scratch can be optimized very well. This type of polishing pad has very clear polishing steps and polishing effect.
1.50-400# diamond polishing pads
Diamond polishing pads of these particle sizes are all using abrasive particles to cut away minerals on the surface of the stone, and the grinding effect is dominant. It is used for leveling during grinding. Relying on rough abrasives, the height difference can be quickly flattened and ready for the next stage.
2.800# diamond polishing pads
This type of diamond polishing pad is quite special. It is the preparatory polishing stage. It serves as a link between the previous and the next, giving a finishing to the front grinding process and a beginning to the back filling process. So it is a complex of "grinding effect & filling effect". The two functions exist at the same time.
3.1500-3000# diamond polishing pads
Diamond polishing pads of these particle sizes are mainly based on the release of resin in the polishing pads for filling process to form high gloss. The filling effect is dominant, and the grinding effect is still there, but it is very weak. The abrasive of polishing pads is very delicate, and the filling effect of the resin is strengthened to grind the stone out of high gloss.
